In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Huy on the Meuse, Belgium by James Webb. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,650.00 (€ 9,069.94), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Webb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ansicht von Köln mit dem unvollendeten Dom in May 2020 with an auction result of EUR 185,938.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Huy on the Meuse, Belgium von James Webb zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.650,00 (€ 9.069,94) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Webb erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ansicht von Köln mit dem unvollendeten Dom im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 185.938,00.
