Upper estimate price exceeded by 38 %.
The work Constantinople by James Webb was sold in the British and European Art auction at Bonhams in London in November last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,287.50 (€ 9,603.32), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Webb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ansicht von Köln mit dem unvollendeten Dom in May 2020 with an auction result of EUR 185,938.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Constantinople von James Webb wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.287,50 (€ 9.603,32) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Webb erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ansicht von Köln mit dem unvollendeten Dom im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 185.938,00.
