Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Winter Comes to the Desert by James Swinnerton. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,120.00 (€ 5,808.10), 22% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Swinnerton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kiva in the desert, which sold at auction in April last year for USD 14,025.00 (€ 13,310.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter Comes to the Desert von James Swinnerton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.120,00 (€ 5.808,10) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von James Swinnerton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Kiva in the desert beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für USD 14.025,00 (€ 13.310,24) versteigert wurde.
