Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ironwood in Bloom by James Swinnerton was sold in the Western Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2021. The price achieved of USD 4,462.50 (€ 3,690.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Swinnerton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kiva in the desert, which sold at auction in April last year for USD 14,025.00 (€ 13,310.24).
