Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Battery Redux) by James Siena was sold in the Editions Contemporary: Online Auction auction at Phillips in an online auction in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of USD 625.00 (€ 556.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Siena achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Recursive Combs, Boustrophedonic in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 53,125.00 (€ 39,489.33).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Battery Redux) von James Siena wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion Editions Contemporary: Online Auction bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 900,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 625,00 (€ 556,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Siena erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Recursive Combs, Boustrophedonic im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 53.125,00 (€ 39.489,33).
