Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of USD 36,000.00 (€ 27,588.32), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by James Sharples have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work George Washington in January 2021 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 267,820.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of George Washington von James Sharples kam im Januar 2005 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 36.000,00 (€ 27.588,32) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Sharples auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit George Washington im Januar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 267.820,35).
