This artwork by James McBey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2020. In the Modern British Art auction, the work Portrait of Dacie sold for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,566.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. This high result makes Portrait of Dacie the most expensive artwork by James McBey that we have observed at auctions so far.
