Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work The Market At Gerona by James McBey. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,032.93). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James McBey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Dacie, which sold at auction in September 2020 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,566.56).
