Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Unloading the catch from a Fife fishing boat by James McBey. The price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,186.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James McBey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Dacie in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,566.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unloading the catch from a Fife fishing boat von James McBey zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.186,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James McBey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Dacie im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.566,56).
