This artwork by James McBey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in September 2017. In the Collection Alberto Pinto auction, the work Le souk sold for EUR 1,875.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James McBey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Dacie in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,566.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James McBey erzielte im September 2017 bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Collection Alberto Pinto wurde die Arbeit Le souk für EUR 1.875,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James McBey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Dacie im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.566,56).
