Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,593.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Hurley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Photographs of Scenes and Incidents in connection with the happenings to the Weddell Sea Party 1914, 1915, 1916. in September 2006 with an auction result of GBP 120,000.00 (€ 177,025.30).
