This artwork by Frank Hurley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2007. In the Exploration and Travel auction, the work Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1914-1917) sold for GBP 54,500.00 (€ 78,148.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Hurley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Photographs of Scenes and Incidents in connection with the happenings to the Weddell Sea Party 1914, 1915, 1916., which sold at auction in September 2006 for GBP 120,000.00 (€ 177,025.30).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Hurley erzielte im September 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exploration and Travel wurde die Arbeit Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1914-1917) für GBP 54.500,00 (€ 78.148,99) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00.
