Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Woman Resting by James Fitton. The price achieved of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 4,480.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Fitton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work London Market, which sold at auction in March 2021 for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,481.64).
