In May 2001 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, Part II, including the Studio Collection of, which included the work A Picture in St. Colmcille's Hall by James Dixon. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,273.64), 65% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Dixon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14).

Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale, Part II, including the Studio Collection of durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Picture in St. Colmcille's Hall von James Dixon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.935,00 (€ 8.273,64) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von James Dixon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self Portrait beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.699,14) versteigert wurde.
