It achieved a price of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,974.98), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Dixon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14).

Die Arbeit Muldoon and the nets von James Dixon wurde im Dezember 2010 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.974,98) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Für andere Arbeiten von James Dixon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self Portrait beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.699,14) versteigert wurde.
