Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by James Dixon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2019. In the Irish Art auction, the work A Sailing Ship sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,806.83) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Dixon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Dixon erzielte im November 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Irish Art wurde die Arbeit A Sailing Ship für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.806,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Dixon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self Portrait beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.699,14) versteigert wurde.
