Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Playing Football on Tory Island by James Dixon was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art auction at Christies in London in July 2015. The price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 7,442.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Dixon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14).

Die Arbeit Playing Football on Tory Island von James Dixon wurde im Juli 2015 in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 7.442,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von James Dixon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self Portrait beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.699,14) versteigert wurde.
