Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work Gipsy Moth coming round Cape Horn by James Dixon. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,749.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gipsy Moth coming round Cape Horn von James Dixon zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.749,06) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self Portrait im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.699,14).
