Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (P!D / SED), double-sided by James Castle was sold in the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction at Christies in January this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,703.26) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Castle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled Construction (Large Blue Jacket) in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 41,470.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (P!D / SED), double-sided von James Castle wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art bei Christies versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 9.450,00 (€ 8.703,26) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Castle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled Construction (Large Blue Jacket) im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 41.470,23).
