Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Two Figures) by James Castle was auctioned at Christies in January this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,410.00 (€ 4,061.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Castle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled Construction (Large Blue Jacket) in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 41,470.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Two Figures) von James Castle kam im Januar diesen Jahres bei Christies zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.410,00 (€ 4.061,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Castle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled Construction (Large Blue Jacket) im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 41.470,23).
