Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a Woman by James Carroll Beckwith for USD 5,760.00 (€ 4,776.91). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Carroll Beckwith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Study With Sunlight in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 118,169.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a Woman von James Carroll Beckwith für USD 5.760,00 (€ 4.776,91) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Carroll Beckwith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Study With Sunlight im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 118.169,79).
