Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2017 Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Quagett by James Brooks. The »bidding war« ended at USD 35,000.00 (€ 29,113.29), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Brooks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work M-51 in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 165,592.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Quagett von James Brooks zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 29.113,29) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Brooks auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit M-51 im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 165.592,16).
