Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Sporting & Wildlife Art Including an Important Private Collection of Works by Archibald Thorburn and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe, which included the work Breaking cover by James Barenger. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,456.24). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Barenger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unkenneling; Going to draw; Gone away and The Kill, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 22,325.00 (€ 35,823.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting & Wildlife Art Including an Important Private Collection of Works by Archibald Thorburn and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe durch, in der auch die Arbeit Breaking cover von James Barenger zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.456,24) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von James Barenger mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unkenneling; Going to draw; Gone away and The Kill beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 22.325,00 (€ 35.823,39) versteigert wurde.
