Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by James Barenger was sold in the The Sunday Sale -The Principal Contents of a Suffolk Hall auction at Christies in London in April 2007. The price achieved of GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,459.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Barenger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unkenneling; Going to draw; Gone away and The Kill in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 22,325.00 (€ 35,823.39).
