This artwork by James Alfred Turner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in April 2005. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work Silver Morn sold for AUD 5,377.50 (€ 3,260.88) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Alfred Turner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On Guard in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 101,575.00 (€ 59,347.00).
