Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Ausa Watering The Horse by James Alfred Turner. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 12,000.00 (€ 7,175.72), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Alfred Turner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On Guard in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 101,575.00 (€ 59,347.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ausa Watering The Horse von James Alfred Turner zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 12.000,00 (€ 7.175,72) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Alfred Turner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On Guard im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 101.575,00 (€ 59.347,00).
