In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Travel & Natural History, which included the work At the Sluice Box by James Alfred Turner. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,531.76), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Alfred Turner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On Guard in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 101,575.00 (€ 59,347.00).

Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Travel & Natural History durch, in der auch die Arbeit At the Sluice Box von James Alfred Turner zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.531,76) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Alfred Turner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On Guard im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 101.575,00 (€ 59.347,00).
