This artwork by James Alfred Turner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Sydney in November this year. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work At the Sluice Box sold for AUD 17,220.00 (€ 10,441.24) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Alfred Turner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On Guard in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 101,575.00 (€ 59,347.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Alfred Turner erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wurde die Arbeit At the Sluice Box für AUD 17.220,00 (€ 10.441,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Alfred Turner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On Guard im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 101.575,00 (€ 59.347,00).
