Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Droving Sheep by James Alfred Turner was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in May 2004. The price achieved of AUD 5,975.00 (€ 3,491.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Alfred Turner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On Guard in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 101,575.00 (€ 59,347.00).
