Auction result misses estimated price range
In September this year a collector was able to acquire the work Hurlingham by James Abbott McNeill Whistler for USD 640.00 (€ 604.69). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Abbott McNeill Whistler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Whistler Smoking in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,200,000.00 (€ 1,063,170.02).
