Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (River scene with boats) by Jamal Ahmed. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,199.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jamal Ahmed - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Bathing), which sold at auction in March this year for GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,191.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (River scene with boats) von Jamal Ahmed zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.199,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jamal Ahmed mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Bathing) beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.191,23) versteigert wurde.
