Martyrdom of Saint Lucy (Griffiths and Hartley 12)
etching and engraving, watermark H with letters on a cross (G.H. wmks 18), a fine impression, trimmed on or just outside the engraved border, the tip of the lower left corner missing, with a small section detatched, the tip of the lower right corner also detatched, a repaired tear at the lower left sheet edge extending into the subject, a small waterstain in the centre of the sheet and a soft horizontal crease across the sheet

Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints, which included the work Martyrdom of Saint Lucy (Griffiths and Hartley 12) by Jacques Bellange. The price achieved of GBP 13,145.00 (€ 19,563.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Other works by Jacques Bellange have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2014 the work Martyrdom Of Saint Andrew was auctioned for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 34,686.15).

Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Martyrdom of Saint Lucy (Griffiths and Hartley 12) von Jacques Bellange zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 13.145,00 (€ 19.563,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Jacques Bellange konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli 2014 die Arbeit Martyrdom Of Saint Andrew für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 34.686,15) versteigert.
