Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jacques Bellange achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2021. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work The Martyrdom of Saint Lucy sold for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,873.83) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jacques Bellange; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Martyrdom Of Saint Andrew sold at auction in July 2014 with the realized price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 34,686.15).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacques Bellange erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wurde die Arbeit The Martyrdom of Saint Lucy für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.873,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00.
