Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jacques Bellange could be acquired at Sothebys in London in March 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work The Virgin And Child With Distaff And An Angel (Walch 9; Griffiths/Hartley 8A) changed hands for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,761.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 18,000.00 – 22,000.00. Other works by Jacques Bellange have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2014 by the work Martyrdom Of Saint Andrew at GBP 27,500.00 (€ 34,686.15).
