Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Portrait Of A Young Woman, With A Ribbon And An Ostrich Feather In Her Hair by Jacques Antoine Marie Lemoine. It changed hands for a price of USD 11,250.00 (€ 9,964.57) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacques Antoine Marie Lemoine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Elisabeth-Louise Vigée-Lebrun reading a letter seated in a garden, which sold at auction in January 2001 for USD 25,850.00 (€ 27,771.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Young Woman, With A Ribbon And An Ostrich Feather In Her Hair von Jacques Antoine Marie Lemoine zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 9.964,57) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacques Antoine Marie Lemoine mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Elisabeth-Louise Vigée-Lebrun reading a letter seated in a garden beobachtet, die im Januar 2001 für USD 25.850,00 (€ 27.771,81) versteigert wurde.
