Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jacopo Robusti could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art auction, the work Allegory Of Music changed hands for USD 1,945,000.00 (€ 1,310,558.59) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Other works by Jacopo Robusti have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2008 by the work Portrait Of A An Elderly Bearded Man, Head And Shoulders at GBP 1,609,250.00 (€ 2,044,570.24).
