Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings, & Watercolors, which included the work The Fall of Preveza by Jacopo Ligozzi. The price achieved of USD 182,500.00 (€ 131,578.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacopo Ligozzi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Turbanned Pasha With An Elephant in July 2009 with an auction result of GBP 529,250.00 (€ 600,540.11).
