Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Christ Carrying The Cross by Jacopo Ligozzi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 578,500.00 (€ 442,312.10). Other works by Jacopo Ligozzi have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2009 by the work A Turbanned Pasha With An Elephant at GBP 529,250.00 (€ 600,540.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Christ Carrying The Cross von Jacopo Ligozzi im Februar 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 578.500,00 (€ 442.312,10) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Jacopo Ligozzi wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2009 die Arbeit A Turbanned Pasha With An Elephant mit GBP 529.250,00 (€ 600.540,11).
