It achieved a price of USD 175,000.00 (€ 157,162.10), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacopo Ligozzi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Turbanned Pasha With An Elephant, which sold at auction in July 2009 for GBP 529,250.00 (€ 600,540.11).

Die Arbeit The Abduction Of The Sabine Women von Jacopo Ligozzi wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Master Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 157.162,10) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacopo Ligozzi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Turbanned Pasha With An Elephant beobachtet, die im Juli 2009 für GBP 529.250,00 (€ 600.540,11) versteigert wurde.
