Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of USD 73,000.00 (€ 49,188.06), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 22%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacopo Ligozzi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Turbanned Pasha With An Elephant in July 2009 with an auction result of GBP 529,250.00 (€ 600,540.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Christ crowned with thorns von Jacopo Ligozzi wurde im Januar 2008 in der Auktion Old Master And 19th Century Drawings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 73.000,00 (€ 49.188,06) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 22%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacopo Ligozzi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Turbanned Pasha With An Elephant im Juli 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 529.250,00 (€ 600.540,11).
