Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work A Married Greek Woman With A Ram by Jacopo Ligozzi for USD 264,000.00 (€ 203,108.17). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacopo Ligozzi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Turbanned Pasha With An Elephant, which sold at auction in July 2009 for GBP 529,250.00 (€ 600,540.11).
