In January 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Gentlemen Discussing Copernican Theory (A Scene From The Theater) by Jacobus Buys. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,461.15), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacobus Buys - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Set Of Twelve Representations Of The Months, which sold at auction in January 2019 for USD 62,500.00 (€ 54,566.09).

Im Januar 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gentlemen Discussing Copernican Theory (A Scene From The Theater) von Jacobus Buys zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.461,15) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacobus Buys mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Set Of Twelve Representations Of The Months beobachtet, die im Januar 2019 für USD 62.500,00 (€ 54.566,09) versteigert wurde.
