Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work A Farm By A Stream by Jacob van Strij. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,837.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacob van Strij have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Southern Hilly Landscape With Shepherds Resting With Their Herd, A View Of Ruins Beyond in November 2008 with an auction result of EUR 13,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Farm By A Stream von Jacob van Strij zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.837,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob van Strij auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Southern Hilly Landscape With Shepherds Resting With Their Herd, A View Of Ruins Beyond im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.750,00.
