Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Interior With An Old Lady Preparing Food by Jacob van Strij for GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,713.85). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Drawings including French Masterworks from the Dormeuil Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Jacob van Strij have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Southern Hilly Landscape With Shepherds Resting With Their Herd, A View Of Ruins Beyond in November 2008 with an auction result of EUR 13,750.00.
