Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work A Rhine landscape with an inn and peasants at work, after Herman Saftleven by Jacob van Strij. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,461.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Jacob van Strij have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Southern Hilly Landscape With Shepherds Resting With Their Herd, A View Of Ruins Beyond in November 2008 with an auction result of EUR 13,750.00.

Im Dezember 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Rhine landscape with an inn and peasants at work, after Herman Saftleven von Jacob van Strij zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.461,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob van Strij auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Southern Hilly Landscape With Shepherds Resting With Their Herd, A View Of Ruins Beyond im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.750,00.
