This artwork by Jacob van Loo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Amsterdam in May 2008. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Portrait Of A Family; All Full Length, A Mother Sitting, Dressed In Blue, With Three Young Children And A Young Man With A Gun, Possibly Her Husband, In A Landscape sold for GBP 120,250.00 (€ 152,963.26) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jacob van Loo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Danaë sold at auction in June 2020 with the realized price of USD 275,000.00 (€ 244,857.98).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jacob van Loo; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Danaë im Juni 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 275.000,00 (€ 244.857,98).
