Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2013 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters & British Paintings, which included the work Portrait of a woman, three-quarter-length, in a blue dress and ochre wrap, beside a column, a landscape beyond by Jacob van Loo. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,427.70) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob van Loo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Danaë in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 275,000.00 (€ 244,857.98).
