In February 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings and Sculpture Day Sale, which included the work Venus And Adonis by Jacob van Loo. The result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 49,136.02) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacob van Loo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Danaë in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 275,000.00 (€ 244,857.98).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings and Sculpture Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venus And Adonis von Jacob van Loo zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 49.136,02) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob van Loo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Danaë im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 275.000,00 (€ 244.857,98).
