Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work A Still Life Of Wild Strawberries And A Carnation In A Ming Bowl, With Cherries And Redcurrants On A Wooden Ledge by Jacob van Hulsdonck. The price achieved of GBP 361,250.00 (€ 409,910.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob van Hulsdonck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With Plums, Grapes And Peaches In A Wicker Basket, With Cherries, Hazelnuts, A Beetle And A Butterfly On The Wooden Tabletop Beneath, which sold at auction in January 2010 for USD 1,874,500.00 (€ 1,351,478.01).
