Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work A drover with his cattle by ruins on a bank by Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan for GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,624.67). This price was achieved in the auction Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peasants with livestock by classical ruins in an extensive landscape, with a youth playing a pipe in the foreground in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 70,278.18).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan erzielen.
